When Alyona learned about her own misattributed paternity, she felt like a found a missing piece of a very complicated puzzle, and without that piece, the puzzle would have never been completed. As she purchased a DNA test back in 2016, she was a successful marketing executive, delivering ambitious projects nationally and internationally. But her life was missing a sense of purpose, so that year she made a decision to step on the path of becoming a therapist and applied for a Master of Counseling course at Monash University, Australia.

A few years later, she was learning to be a therapist and how to live without knowing who her actual biological father was at the same time. For her, the discovery of my misattributed paternity was synonymous with becoming a therapist. Deeply interested in close intimate relationships, she specialized in couples therapy, further expanding into sex therapy and trauma work.

Alyona feels that all the tools in her therapeutic toolbox she's gathered so far - her own lived experience, understanding of intricate interpersonal dynamics and issues of sexuality, plus research experience on the subject of paternal discrepancies - are a perfect fit for helping those affected by misattributed paternity. She knows how profound these experiences can be - she is here to help you navigate them.
